ūmmi was started by a group of friends that fell in love with some hard kombucha they found in California. The taste was pretty good, but the feeling was amazing - a light, refreshing, and really fun social buzz.

The issue: not available in Portugal. The solution: learn to make it ourselves. Coincidentally the base of the drink is green tea and Portugal is home to Europes oldest remaining tea farm. That was the spark and start of our journey.

After a few years of iterating, we created a drink that not only felt better, it tastes incredible. What starts with a kombucha fermentation is elevated with a second fermentation using champagne yeast and finished with organic fruits and botanicals. It became a different drink entirely. As our friends and most everyone who tries it for the first time say "this stuff is dangerously good". We're proud of that.

What started as a few friends quickly grew into a community of creators, athletes, artists and musicians coming together to bring ūmmi to the world. The people you see on this page were the ones who helped us bring this vision of a better alcohol to life.
